We service and store our clients’ vessels and sleds (we’re a Dealer for Mercury, Yamaha and MerCruiser engines), provide seasonal slips for 125 water access cottagers; and support and host several events on the lake in the summer season. 

We are often looking for seasonal crew for boat winterizing (early September to mid November) and boat cleaning in the spring (mid April to end of June), as well as students for our summer crew (gas pumping, ice cream scooping, latte making, grass cutting…).

We are currently hiring for these positions:

Marina Shrinkwrapper + Yard Hand (Seasonal)

This role involves working with marina technician and our operational management team, primarily shrink-wrapping boats, assisting with winterization of vessels, and general yard work in preparation for winter season. The Marina Shrink-wrapper is an important member of the MTH Crew; our clients entrust their vessels to us, and we have a short period of time to get all vessels winterized and stored before winter. Expectations:

• Work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and be respectful of break allowances.
• Work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
• Work safely and responsibly.
• Be physically capable of duties.
• Work competently outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Driver’s License and Boater’s License required.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Shrink-wrap boats for winter storage (will train if necessary)
• Assist with winterization (oil changes)
• Drive boats from lake onto trailers
• Move boats around the yard on trailers (tractor usage)
• Assist with general labour preparing marina for winter season (pulling docks, putting up snow fences)

Personal:

• Take pride in work quality, workspace organization and personal hygiene.
• Wear steel-toed footwear and own weather appropriate gear (full rainsuit recommended), maintain a professional appearance.
• Observe marina’s no smoking policy.
• Never come to work intoxicated (alcohol and drug impairment are an issue of safety).
• Be punctual and reliable (8:50am is the morning huddle).
• Participate in training and development as required.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors and crew.

Other Details:

• Position is SEASONAL FULL TIME
• September 11th to November 24th (11 weeks)
• 40 hours per week (minimum)
• Ability to commute
• $18--$22 per hour based on experience
• Incentive for bonus based on performance
